(...) The system created by virtual money (or plastic money) is very similar to a catalog, which contains most of our actions, encoded by location, date, time and identity of the end user. (...)

The standard size of a regular credit card is 3.370 × 2.125 in. If we enlarge it by 9 times the size will be 30,11 x 19,48 in. If we enlarge it with our feelings, transferring onto it our dreams and mistakes, the result will be a credit card whose dimensions are gigantic.

At the beginning I just wanted to point out the fact that a piece of plastic of the size of 3.370 × 2.125 inches may contain so much information about the identities of persons and their lives. As a matter of fact each one of us using a credit card makes a conceptual self-portrait  In this way a little piece of plastic becomes a medium for a transfer of debt / credit, trust / mistrust, identity / person and so on.

In my intention I wanted  to create myself the signs of each card, making it a unique piece and not a multiple, destroying - once printed - the digital file. It seemed to me important to create the card and hide in it narrative, history, identity, emotion, sense or nonsense, action and behavior. In this way going forward in the project I could become a portraitist myself! I could generate a credit card-portrait on commission!

(...) The numbers increasingly affect our identity. We are required to generate continuous alias of ourselves, helping us to pass through the various doors which belong to a virtual system. These alias are replicated endlessly in a continuum circle of virtual life. We are

passing through thousands doors, back and forward continuously and not interrupted - probably - even by death. And such thoughts remind me the door 11 Rue Larrey, Paris of Duchamp’s memory.(...)

Money enphasize our lives. It creates a different perception in how we see the world. Money has become a concept because we do not see money any more in a phisycal way . We just see a piece of plastic with numbers and our name on it. That is all we see.
